— Monroe Double Gates —

Everything You Built,
Still in View

You didn't spend years getting the house and the garden right to hide them behind a wall. The Monroe closes the driveway and leaves the view exactly where it is.

01

The gate that doesn't undo the work

Most driveway gates solve one problem and create another: the property is finally closed, and the house you've spent years on disappears behind it. The Monroe was drawn to avoid exactly that. Slim uprights in an even vertical rhythm hold the line across the opening without ever blocking it, so the façade, the front garden and the light all stay where they belong — visible from the street, and visible from inside looking out. The entrance reads as considered rather than defensive, and everything behind it still gets the credit.

02

A boundary, not a barricade

There is a real difference between a property that is defined and a property that is shut. The Monroe defines. It marks the edge clearly, stops the driveway being treated as public ground, and tells anyone arriving exactly where your home begins — while air, light and outlook pass straight through it. On a wide opening that openness matters more, not less: a solid pair of leaves that size can dominate the whole frontage, where the Monroe stays light on the eye no matter how far it spans. You get the address without the fortress.

03

You can feel the difference before you see it

On an open gate there is no panel to hide behind — the frame is the design, and it either looks substantial or it looks thin. The Monroe now runs 75 × 75 RHS gate sides — a serious step up in section — under a 65 × 35 RHS top rail with 38 × 25 mid and bottom rails, all welded from premium galvanised Australian steel. You notice it the first time you push a leaf: no flex, no rattle, no hollow note. It moves as one piece and closes with intent. On a double it earns its keep twice over, because a wide leaf is where lightweight gates give up first — they wind slowly out of square until the centre gap goes crooked and the two sides stop meeting. Heavier stiles are the reason the Monroe holds its line, and the reason a good gate still shuts properly in twenty years while a cheap one doesn't last five.

04

Restraint is why it keeps looking right

The Monroe is our most-chosen design, and the reason is simple: there is nothing on it to go out of fashion. Slim 19mm square uprights, a clean rectangular frame, an even open run across the top, and no ornament anywhere. It sits just as comfortably against a rendered contemporary build as it does a federation frontage or a rural entrance, because it isn't borrowing a style — it's holding a proportion. Trends move through the street; the Monroe stays quietly correct.

05

One language, the whole way around

Pair the Monroe double with the matching Monroe single gate and fence panels and the entire frontage reads as one designed estate — same upright rhythm, same open top, same finish, carried from boundary to front path to driveway. The home arrives at the street the way it should: composed, considered, and unmistakably chosen rather than supplied.

— How the Monroe compares —
What matters Monroe Steel Double Gates Aluminium / Timber Gates
Arrival presence Slim uprights in a heavy 75 × 75 steel frame — light on the eye, substantial in the hand, and it closes with intent. Hollow, light, tinny under the hand — reads as builder-default rather than a decision.
Outlook & light An open vertical run keeps the house, the garden and the light in view from both sides of the boundary. Slab panels close the frontage off entirely, or thick sections crowd a wide opening.
Security & strength Precision-engineered steel resists forcing and impact — a gate you can genuinely rely on. Aluminium flexes and dents; timber can be forced or weakened over time.
Closes cleanly for decades Heavy 75 × 75 stiles and precision welding keep both leaves square, so the centre gap stays even and the gates meet true. Timber warps and drops; lighter gates sag until the centre gap goes crooked.
Finish & longevity Four-Stage Bonded Powder Coat in 26 premium colours — engineered for Australian conditions. Limited colour range with shorter finish lifespan; timber requires constant maintenance.
Made & supported in Australia 100% Tamworth-made, expert guidance from selection through installation — backed by our 10-Year Structural Warranty. Commonly imported, with limited reseller-based support after the sale.
— Designed for the long view —

There's a long stretch between moving in and feeling moved in. The lawn comes in. The hedges fill out. The cars stop looking new. And one day the gates go on at the front of the drive — and the place finally reads, from the road, as the home you've been picturing the whole way through.

The Monroe is built for that moment, and built not to steal it. The frontage stays open. The garden keeps doing its work. What changes is that the property is now clearly, calmly defined — a heavy steel frame across the opening, an even rhythm of slim uprights, and nothing on it that will look dated in a decade. The matching single gate and fence panels carry the same language, so the boundary, the front path and the driveway all settle into one resolved composition.

It isn't the cheapest way to close a driveway, and it was never meant to be. An aluminium gate is a purchase — replaced when it sags, fades or dents, and the second one costs what the first one did. A Monroe is fitted once. Australian galvanised steel in heavier sections than the job demands, welded by hand, four-stage bonded powder coat, backed for ten years. Spread across the years it will stand there, it is one of the least expensive things you will do to the front of the house — and one of the few your children could still be closing behind them.

The Monroe is the entrance you'll still be proud of when the dog has grown old, the kids have left, and the garden has finally come in.

— Posts, hardware and a clean swing —

Delivered ready to hang

A pair of Monroe leaves is a serious load, and the posts do the holding — so for a clean swing and a centre gap that stays even we recommend a minimum 90 × 90 mm steel post, and we supply the full range of compatible posts, hinges, locks, drop bolts and automation hardware to suit.

Speak to our team before you order. We'll walk you through opening width, leaf split, swing direction, post selection and automation — so the Monroe hangs straight, meets true in the centre and closes cleanly from day one.

— Made in Tamworth —

Built once. Right.

Every Monroe double gate is welded by hand in our Tamworth workshop, by people who care about square leaves, even spacing, and a centre gap that lines up. Australian galvanised steel. Four-stage bonded powder coat. No flat-pack kits. No shortcuts.

Nationwide delivery, a complete range of compatible posts and hardware, and expert guidance from a real person — so the arrival at the front of your property is exactly the one you've been picturing.
