— Newport Single Gate —

The Welcome That
Lets You Know You're Home

There is a moment, just before the latch lifts, when the day outside ends and home begins. The Newport is built for that moment.

01

The first impression you actually control

You can't change the street, the neighbours, or the shape of the block. The front gate is the one thing that's entirely yours to decide — and it's the first thing anyone reads about your home. The Newport reads well: open at the top so nothing feels closed off, private through the lower half, and weighted in real Australian steel so it swings shut with a sound you'll come to like. Get this one right and everything behind it looks better.

02

The front garden becomes a room you actually use

Most front gardens are decoration. They're mown, paid for and looked at — and nobody sits in them, because the whole space is on display to the street. The Newport changes what that space is for. Beneath the open top, the lower panel runs 50 × 10 vertical slats set just 20mm apart: the eye doesn't drift through, so the front of the property is genuinely private while air and light still move. Above, the open squares keep the sky in the picture so it never reads as a barricade. What you get back is a front yard that belongs to the house instead of the street.

03

You can feel the difference before you see it

The Newport is built from heavier sections than a gate this size needs — 75 × 75 RHS gate sides, 75 × 50 RHS top, mid and bottom rails, welded from premium galvanised Australian steel. You notice it the first time you push it: no flex, no rattle, no hollow note. It moves as one piece and closes with intent. That extra steel is also why the leaf stays square for decades instead of slowly winding out of shape — the reason a good gate still shuts properly in twenty years, and a cheap one doesn't last five.

04

Heavy-duty ball bearing hinges, included

Hardware is where an expensive-looking gate gives itself away, usually inside the first year. So every Newport single is supplied with a set of heavy-duty ball bearing hinges — a genuine step up from the standard hinge, and the right match for a leaf this heavy. Sealed 180° bearings carry the load instead of grinding against it, rated well beyond the weight of the gate, so it swings smooth and effortless and never drops or drags. Each hinge is fully adjustable on a threaded stem, so the installer can dial the leaf square on the post and fine-tune the latch gap on site — then leave it set. Zinc plated for the weather. Included in the price, not an upsell.

05

One language, the whole way around

Pair the Newport single gate with the matching Newport fence panels and double gate and the entire frontage reads as one designed estate — same open top, same close 20mm spacing below, same finish, carried from boundary to driveway to front path. The home arrives at the street the way it should: composed, considered, and unmistakably chosen rather than supplied.

— How the Newport compares —
What matters Newport Steel Single Gate Aluminium / Timber Gate
Welcome under the hand Heavy, substantial steel — the leaf closes with intent. Reads as estate, not entry-level. Hollow, light, tinny under the hand — feels like a kit, not an arrival.
A signature architectural detail Open across the top, private below — the frontage that lifts the whole street. Single flat panel, no detail — looks like a hardware-store gate from the kerb.
Privacy at the front path Just 20mm between slats — real privacy at the front path, with the open top above for light. Wider gaps or solid panels that read closed-off and heavy.
Hinges in the box Heavy-duty adjustable ball bearing hinges included — rated well beyond the leaf, smooth swing, no drop. Basic butt hinges, or hardware sold separately — the first thing to sag or seize.
Closes cleanly for decades Welded steel frame, precision-engineered — leaf stays square, latch lines up, gate closes true. Timber drops; lighter gates sag, rattle and lose their alignment with the post.
Made & supported in Australia 100% Tamworth-made, expert guidance from selection through installation — backed by our 10-Year Structural Warranty. Commonly imported with limited reseller-based support after the sale.
— Why the Newport single matters —

The driveway gate closes off the property. The single gate closes off the day. With the Newport, that closing-off has weight — substantial steel, open and generous across the top, a private wall of slats below. The kind of front gate that says the place behind it has been thought about. For a long time. By people who care.

The Newport single carries the same designed-estate language as the matching fence panels and double gate — same open top, same private 20mm spacing — so the entire approach reads as one settled, considered, well-kept home.

It isn't the cheapest way to close a front path, and it was never meant to be. An aluminium gate is a purchase — replaced when it sags, fades or dents, and the second one costs what the first one did. A Newport is fitted once. Australian galvanised steel in heavier sections than the job demands, welded by hand, four-stage bonded powder coat, heavy-duty ball bearing hinges in the box, backed for ten years. Spread across the years it will stand there, it is one of the least expensive things you will do to the front of the house — and one of the few your children could still be closing behind them.

The Newport is the gate you'll still be proud of when the dog has grown old, the kids have left, and the garden has finally come in.

— Posts, hinges and a clean swing —

Delivered ready to hang

The Newport is a substantial leaf — so every gate ships with a set of heavy-duty ball bearing hinges included, the higher-grade hinge built to carry serious weight and keep swinging smooth for the long haul. For a clean swing and a latch that lines up properly, we recommend a minimum 100 × 100 mm steel post, and we supply the full range of compatible posts, latches and hardware to suit.

Speak to our team before you order. We'll walk you through opening width, hinge side, latch hardware and post selection — so the Newport single hangs straight, swings clean and closes true from day one.

— Made in Tamworth —

Built once. Right.

Every Newport single gate is welded by hand in our Tamworth workshop, by people who care about a square leaf, a clean weld and a latch that lines up. Australian galvanised steel. Four-stage bonded powder coat. Heavy-duty ball bearing hinges in the box. No flat-pack kits. No shortcuts.

Nationwide delivery, a complete range of compatible posts and heavy-duty hardware, and expert guidance from a real person — so the welcome at the top of your path is exactly the welcome you've been picturing.
