Safetech's award-winning TriLatch — a magnetic self-latching top pull latch with a push-hold-lift safety button, independently tested to Australian Standards and designed for pool gates and children's play areas.
A conventional pool gate latch may comply on paper when the release is 1.5m high, but children are inventive — a broom handle through the fence, or a chair dragged over, and the knob lifts. The TriLatch takes two simultaneous actions: the red safety button in the centre of the knob must be pressed and held down, and only then can the knob be lifted. That can't be done with a garden tool, a toy or any other long object.
A magnet draws the latch onto the striker and holds it there, so the gate latches itself on every close rather than relying on someone pulling it that last inch. Key-lockable with two keys supplied and a 5-pin wafer lock, for when you want the gate shut to everyone.
Independently tested to Australian Standards, and straightforward to install. Once it's on you have 25mm of vertical adjustment and 10mm of horizontal adjustment to get the alignment right, across a gap range of 12mm to 38mm with 20mm the ideal.
E-coated for extra protection, with engineered polymers, treated aluminium extrusions, stainless steel springs and screws, and DACROMET treated steel pins. Suits aluminium, steel, vinyl and timber gates, including pool gates — a latch that keeps working through years of weather and slams.
Set out for an ideal 20mm gap between the gate side and the post. The TriLatch works across a range of 12mm to 38mm, but 20mm is where it operates best. If this is a pool or spa gate, check the latch height and barrier requirements that apply in your state before you install.
Send us your gate width, height, which side it swings and whether it's a single or double, and we'll confirm the latch, the matching self-closing hinges and the setout gaps you'll need before the posts go in. Suits aluminium, steel, vinyl and timber gates. For pool and spa gates, the latch height and barrier rules that apply in your state are the final word — check them before you install.
