Safetech's key-lockable Viper gravity latch — no guiding slots to jam, key-lockable from both sides, re-keyable to your house key, and backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

The jamming problem, solved by design

Every gravity latch has the same weak point: dirt, leaf litter and grit lodge in the guiding slots and the hooks jam before they reach the latching bar. The Viper has no guiding means at all — there's nowhere for residue to collect. Individually operating hooks, a unique latching mechanism, and a gate that closes properly in autumn as reliably as it did in spring.

Re-keyed to the key already in your pocket

A 6-pin C4 lock that can be re-keyed — so the gate can run on your existing house key instead of adding another one to the ring. Two keys are supplied, and multiple latches can be key-alike or individually keyed depending on how you want the property to work.

Left hand to right hand in seconds

Safetech's patented backplate lets you shift from right-hand to left-hand operation with no screws — so the latch suits the gate you've actually got, not the one the packaging assumed. Adjustable both vertically and horizontally once it's on, with a gap variance from 14mm to 34mm and an ideal gap of 20mm.

High-grade engineered polymer with stainless steel springs and rust-resistant components — a long service life that shrugs off slams and resists UV and rust degradation. Attractive, but built for the gate that gets used hard. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

Set out for an ideal 20mm gap between the gate side and the post. The Viper will work across a gap variance of 14mm to 34mm, but 20mm is where it operates best — worth getting right before the posts go in.
